Exciting Stats since March 28th Kickoff!!! (less than one month!)

Since our ministry kicked off on March 28th with volunteers, here are some of the stats in our first month of operation. Understand we have only counseled a total of 5 days in that month because of limited resources. Nonetheless, here are the exciting stats to date (as of April 18th):

26 counselees served in 17 total meetings

by 20 volunteer biblical counselors

for 26.5 hours of biblical discipleship with

3 marriages in the process of reconciling!!!!!!!!

Please understand that our format is to go into 1 church and counsel one day per week in that church and to teach classes to equip others to do the work of discipleship and biblical counseling. We are currently only serving 2 churches so this is a total of 5 days of counseling in those churches.

The Lord is great and greatly to be praised for what He is doing through the willing and faithful volunteers of Truth in Love Ministries!

Now Working in Trussville & Clay communities on Wed.

We are up and running in the Clay community now on Wednesdays! There are some great volunteers helping me to biblically counsel individuals, couples, and families out in that area.

SHOUT to the Lord!

What a blast I have had this week being surrounded by pastors and church planters looking to serve God all over the world! Our church, www.churchofthehighlands.com hosted this year’s ARC Conference. The Association of Related Churches is believing God to plant 2000 Churches by the year 2020.  It is so motivating to be around other people who have a passion for reaching “others” for the Cause of our King!

While volunteering at the Conference, I was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with www.hillsong.com staff from the Mega Church in Sydney, Australia.  What made this especially cool was that last week on American Idol, one of their songs “SHOUT to the Lord”  (link to video on Youtube) was sung, not once, but TWICE!  They changed the song without permission the first night, and therefore sang it a second night with the word JESUS in it!! How amazing it is to think about the MILLIONS of people who watched and heard the Lord calling!

As you have read, today was Mark’s official first day as our Truth in Love founder.  I am so thankful that God has given Mark such a desire to serve Him and “others” in and thru this ministry. It’s all about reaching them to share the GOOD NEWS we have received!

May God continue to have His Way in this ministry as we seek to be used by Him.  Please be praying for a smooth transition for Mark and all those involved as we embark on the journey fulltime.

First Day on the New Job

Had a VERY productive day today – my first official day as a full-time Truth in Love “employee.” It’s been great! We are already seeing fruit in our ministry as one family we ministered to today is RECONCILING their marriage after a divorce!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, God is truly amazing!

Speaking the Truth in Love on Live National Radio Broadcast “Crosstalk”

There are few better ways to kick off this ministry than what happened today: a national radio interview about my booklet called Hope and Help for Video Game, TV, and Internet “Addiction”! Mr. Vic Eliason interviewed me during the one hour program about the booklet and received live calls from listeners across the nation. I really enjoyed hearing from the listeners and interacting with them on this topic!

Off and Running!

So Friday April 4th we had our second Friday of counseling at Philadelphia Baptist Church.  God is so good!  Mark, Hope and I met before counseling began to discuss the ministry, counseling exams, and various to-do’s.  It is exciting to see how God is bringing all of this together so seamlessly.  Please pray for the Lord to continue to raise up support for us to enter into more churches in the near future. 

I am very thrilled to be in a place where I “get-to” discuss the Lord everyday!  We all are ministers in our own lives by the way we live out loud.  I encourage those of you who might be wanting to get more involved to pray about it, and watch how God will put opportunities in front of you.  Thanks for taking time out to visit our blog and keep checking back in to see how God uses Truth in Love to bring Glory to Himself!
