C.S. Lewis quotes

I listened to several teachings and sermons one week and I must’ve heard every one of them give at least one C.S. Lewis quote in each of those lessons.

C.S. Lewis – what a thinker!

We love to read him today but would we want C.S. Lewis in our churches? Would he challenge us to think outside our boxes and would we like that?

I think people love to read C.S. Lewis but if they were confronted by him personally, then it would be a different story.

I’m going to quote C.S. Lewis from Mere Christianity but then I’m going to promise that I  won’t do it again for many months because I do not want to be accused of being trendy (just a joke): “I was made for another world. To press on to that country and encourage others to do the same.”

C.S. Lewis lived in light of eternity. His thinking challenges us because we tend to think about temporal things of today rather than about eternity for today.

Colossians 3:1-3 states: If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. – The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Col 3:1-3). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
