Share a verse or two

Everone has one, or two… A Bible verse that leaped off the page at just the right time in your life.  Maybe it was written inside a memorable card during a tough time of life.  Perhaps someone shared it with you in a way you just can’t forget.  We ALL have them.  Is it just a coincidence that we happened to notice God reveal Himself in that period of life and not others?  Or could it be that He is always speaking and sometimes we just aren’t doing our part in listening? In my experiences, the more time I spend in His Word, the more He reveals to me “rhema” words that seem to jump off the page and specifically apply to the season of life I am experiencing.

My favorite verse over the last few years comes from Habakkuk Chapter 2 verses 3 and 4.  The prophet is frustrated why God is not giving him answers on several inquiries.  I think of Job when he played 20 questions with God.  Often times God calls us to obedience before understanding.  This is one such situation.  Verse four ends with a command for the righteous to live by their faith!

3 This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
      It will not be delayed.

 4 “Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
